Socktober
Did you know that socks are one of the most needed items in a shelter but are one of the least donated? Without access to clean socks, feet can be easily damaged by the elements and be more susceptible to disease.
That is why George O’Mahony C.Ped (C) has made it his priority to help his community by collecting new, unopened sock donations. Every year, Socktober is run from September to October and donates all the new collected socks to The Inn of the Good Shepherd here in Sarnia to be given back to our community during their annual winter coat drive.
We are happy to share that we have collected and donated over 9000 pairs of new men, women, and children’s socks to our Inn of the Good Shepherd since Socktober started in 2016!
Our 7th annual Socktober for 2022 has come to an end and we are happy to announce that we were able to collect over 2000 pairs of men’s, women’s, and children’s socks for The Inn of the Good Shepherd.
